Über den Autor
Kirsten Neuschäfer (born 23rd June 1982) is a South African sailor specializing in high latitude and adventure sailing. She is the winner of the 2022 Golden Globe Race, making her the first woman to win a solo, non-stop, round-the-world race by way of the Southern Ocean and the three great capes, as well as the first South African sailor to win a round-the-world event. Adventure has been an integral part of her life since her early years. Notably she cycled the length of Africa from Morocco to South Africa via northwest and central Africa, alone and unassisted at the age of 22. When not at sea or on other types of adventures, she lives in the Eastern Cape in South Africa and spends time hiking with her dogs along the rugged coastline.
