Beschreibung
The building researcher and later building councilor Wulf Schaefer (1907-1994) completed the first part of his work on the 'Building History of Nafplio' in 1936 and added a second part by 1944. The work was never published except for a few typewritten copies due to the war. Alexander Zäh has now arranged, abridged and updated it."The history of the city of Nafplio, its people and its buildings, is to be drawn from all sources that can be found, from written as well as built documents. (...) All the findings of our scholarly endeavours should culminate in the goal of tracking down the driving forces and essences of this city, in other words: to search for the genius loci - in short - its soul". (Wulf Schaefer)
