Beschreibung
Lucy, a headstrong young woman of Appalachia, won't wait for a solution to climate change-she'll create one.

In 1976, her high school chemistry teacher, Ms. Gabby, delivers a chilling tale: by the year 2126, Earth's atmosphere will be nearly lost to carbon dioxide.

Determined to prove her worth and driven by a passion for science, Lucy proposes a daring plan-to go back in time and change the course of history. To succeed, she must enlist her skeptical brother Charlie and her secret crush, Billy, to act as her proxies.

Their journey takes them to 1828, into the heart of the Appalachian mountains along the deep and dirty Kanawha River Valley-where a booming salt industry devours coal. Here, Lucy learns that saving the planet may demand more than knowledge and courage. It may cost everything.
