Beschreibung
This collection was born from the consequences of having a heart that feels too much. The author began writing when she wasn't strong enough to speak. Growing up as a South Asian girl meant carrying too many feelings and too much silence, with a mind that never seemed to rest.

These poems are both a love letter to girlhood and a testament to the vulnerability of feeling deeply. They speak of family, of love that angers, hurts, and still somehow saves you. They speak of learning to live with what you hide and the complex beauty of surviving your own mind.

These poems are what came out instead of the words she couldn't say. Every piece is a story of the moments she wishes she had spoken up. An answer to the question of what it means to keep feeling deeply when everything around you tells you not to.

Über den Autor
Mariam Hifzur is a young Sri Lankan creative born and raised in Abu Dhabi who loves writing in all its forms: poetry, quotes, and unfinished sentences scribbled on paper and her iPad. Music, singing, writing, theater, and reading are how she makes sense of the world around her; you will almost always find her writing or crying over a book, movie, or song that touches her too [...] battles with anxiety and depression, conditions that live within her, and poetry has become her way of coping, processing, and surviving. Since she was only recently diagnosed, she gives shape to feelings that feel too heavy to carry alone through words. Writing is not just a passion for her; it's a refuge, release, and prayer for everything she cannot say out [...] is a lover of the arts because they found her when she had no voice.
