BREATHE NO MORE, MY LADY

Norm Connor is the ad director for a New York publisher, and a man with a dilemma. One of their top-selling mystery authors, Matt Anthony, has been arrested for murdering his wife. The publisher wants to support Matt, but doesn't want the bad publicity that goes along with it. So Norm starts digging into the affair to determine himself whether he thinks Matt is guilty. What he discovers is a contradictory set of stories between Matt's friends who heard him threaten to kill his wife-but didn't take it seriously--and Matt's own confession, which he gave to the investigating cop. And the further Norm delves, the more he begins to wonder whether Matt the mystery writer is spinning a tale of his own.

SHAKEDOWN FOR MURDER

New York cop Matt Lund is on vacation, visiting his son's family in End Harbor. He'd rather be home with his cat. But he dutifully visits his two kids once a year. The last thing he wants is to get involved in the death of the local doctor. The town cops think it's an accident-his car was found smashed into a tree, and the doc was in the road, run over. But Matt can't help himself. He's got to show off in front of his grandson. He points out that it couldn't have been an accident-the door wasn't sprung. It looks like murder to him. Now Matt is deep into it, trying to make his daughter-in-law happy by proving that the man the cops have now arrested is as innocent as she claims he is.
