Über den Autor

Eric Gill (1882-1940) was a sculptor, typeface designer, stonecutter, and engraver, and one of the most idiosyncratic and creative English artists of his time. He designed such well-known typefaces as Joanna, Perpetua, and Gill Sans, and made engravings for over 100 books. His deep religious sensibilities, radical politics, and embrace of the erotic are reflected in his life and work.
