Close the Gap to Lower Scores
The difference between your best and worst rounds isn't your swing-it's your mentality. Yet the basics of golf psychology are often misunderstood, leading to needless mistakes, higher scores, and inconsistent play.
Just as you can't build a reliable swing with a bad grip or poor alignment, you can't build a reliable game on a warped perspective. You might pull off good shots, even good rounds, but faulty technique always catches up to you. The same is true mentally. If your understanding of confidence, pressure, luck, focus, or emotion is flawed, you're going to be compensating on every shot.
Everyday Golf Psychology is the ultimate problem-solver for the mental side of golf, no matter your experience, handicap, or skill set. Using his 20+ years of experience as a performance coach for golfers of all ability, including Tour pros, Jared Tendler gives you practical guidance that's easy to apply.
You're not learning about psychology for the sake of it or memorizing broad generalities. What you learn helps you correct the mistakes that cost you strokes and create inconsistency-negativity, overthinking, frustration, fear, lacking confidence. These mistakes affect golfers at every level of the game. Even Tour pros aren't immune.
No other golf psychology book tackles problems with such precision and clarity. Everyday Golf Psychology challenges long-held conventions, including the idea that golf is 90 percent mental. It's not. Not even close. If it were, golf psychologists would be positioned at every course and a 20-handicap could become scratch simply by improving their mentality.
Full of clear, actionable advice based on how your mind really works, this book narrows the gap between your best and worst, allowing you to thrive under pressure, build lasting confidence, take your game from the range to the course, recover from mistakes without spiraling, and focus less on score and swing. With your mind on solid ground, you'll find a version of golf that feels natural and repeatable.

Über den Autor
Jared Tendler, MS, LMHC, is an internationally recognized mental game coach with over 20 years of experience. His clients span 45 countries and include everyday golfers, as well as PGA Tour and LPGA Tour winners, world champion poker players, executives, entrepreneurs, lawyers, and financial traders. In addition to Everyday Golf Psychology, Jared is also the author of three best-selling books, The Mental Game of Trading, and The Mental Game of Poker 1 & 2. As a junior golfer, Jared dreamed of playing professionally, and his interest in golf psychology began after choking in the U.S. Open local qualifier in 1997-missing four short putts and a playoff by one shot. While playing collegiate golf for Division III Skidmore College, Jared was a three-time All-American and won nine tournaments but continually underperformed in national events. Driven to find better answers, he earned a master's degree in counseling psychology and became a licensed therapist. In 2005, Jared started working with golfers to develop a practical, straightforward approach to golf psychology, helping players at every level, from tournament professionals to beginners. Proving his clients aren't the only ones to benefit from his system, Jared solved his own issues and in 2013 qualified for the U.S. Mid-Amateur, shooting two-under. Currently, he's a member at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA, regularly plays in regional tournaments, and now dreams of playing in the U.S. Senior Open.
