Über den Autor

Wolfgang Fraedrich unterrichtet Geologie, Geographie und Medientechnische Bildung an einem Hamburger Gymnasium. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Schul- und Sachbücher und seit mehreren Jahrzehnten Mitherausgeber der fachdidaktischen Zeitschrift geographie heute mit weit mehr als 200 Publikationen allein im Fachzeitschriftenbereich.

Durch zahlreiche Exkursionen mit Erwachsenen und diverse Forschungsfahrten mit Schülergruppen im Rahmen der Betreuung bei Jugend forscht hat er verschiedenste Winkel der Erde kennengelernt. Neben dem Vulkanismus und der Entstehung von Gebirgslandschaften spielen vor allem die Glazialgebiete eine große Rolle.
