Die Designerin, Aktivistin, Akademikerin und Autorin Julia Watson ist Leiterin des nach ihr benannten Designstudios, das sich an der Schnittstelle von Anthropologie, Ökologie und Innovation bewegt. Zusammen mit Marie Salembier betreibt sie als Watson Salembier ein Full-Service-Studio für Landschafts- und Städtebau, das auf Renaturierung spezialisiert ist. Julia hält Vorträge und berät sich mit Fortune-500-Unternehmen, um deren Betriebe an globalen Nachhaltigkeitszielen auszurichten, indem sie systemische Veränderungen für die Sektoren Nachhaltigkeit, Innovation und Zukunft entwirft und umsetzt. Sie unterrichtet Städteplanung in Harvard und an der Columbia University. Für ihre Abschlussarbeit im Bereich Naturschutz und spirituelle Landschaften erhielt sie in Harvard die höchste Auszeichnung. Seitdem veröffentlichte sie in ioARCH, Topos, Seacities, LAF, The Philosophy of Dumbness, Nakhara Journal, Water Urbanisms East, und World Heritage Sites and Living Culture of Indonesia. Zusammen mit Dr. J. Stephen Lansing ist sie Co-Autorin des Spiritual Guide to Bali's UNESCO World Heritage.
