Escher, Zdzislaw Beksiński, Takato Yamamoto and Ernst Fuchs, Johnston's mind-bending artistic approach can best be seen in his ongoing "Transformation" series, split into four parts titled "Deform," "Divide," "Attract," and "Recur."Johnston studied at the Swedish Academy of Realist Art, where he now teaches. In 2018, he held his first solo exhibition, "Interoception," at Last Rites Gallery in New York City, and his works have been shown in several group exhibitions across Australia and the United States.
