Der Solist spielt zuerst die Etüde zusammen mit einer Rhythmusgruppe (Klavier, Bass, Schlagzeug). Sie können also, wie beim Erlernen einer Fremdsprache, genau hören, wie die Stücke phrasiert werden und sie dann mit dem Play-Along-Track mitspielen. Alle 24 Stücke wurden mit und ohne Soli aufgenommen.
Als zusätzlichen Bonus enthält das Buch zu jeder Etüde eine sogenannte Guide-Tone-Version (eine im Tonmaterial vereinfachte Fassung), die ein Duo-Partner übernehmen kann, sowie nützliche Übetipps.
