Amy usually prefers writing fantasy and dystopian fiction, like in her debut book "The Curse of the Diadem". However, in Milly's story, she explored a whole new genre. Writing a book with no dragons, no fantastical kingdoms and no magic was a challenge. Nevertheless, as this story takes place in a part of England she knows well, plus by drawing on personal life experience, she eventually managed to put the story into words.
Fun Fact: Amy had two surfing lessons in Bigbury-on-Sea, which is a popular beach near Bantham. In fact, that's where the cover picture comes from. If you look carefully, you can see Bantham in the distance!
