Beschreibung

The Ganges and the Jordan are the sacred rivers of Hinduism and Christianity. This book explores where these two great spiritual traditions meet and how the Jesus of the New Testament and the Christian tradition can be understood in new ways when seen through the lens of Vedic spiritual experience. If Christianity is to find a place in the 'post-Christian' West, it has to be a religion of personal transformation rather than a transactional religion, the sort of transaction which says, 'I will believe in Jesus Christ so that my sins will be forgiven and I will go to heaven'. Jesus' call to the 'Kingdom of God' is that call to personal transformation that makes the direct experience of God a possibility for all. This new Christianity will not only teach people about 'the pearl of great price' it will show people that they are themselves the pearl of great price.
