The Holy Qur'an is divided into 114 Surahs (chapters) and Ayat (verses), and is also divided into 30 equal sections known as Juz'. Juz 'Amma, the 30th Juz' of the Qur'an, contains the final 36 Surahs, beginning with Surah An-Nabaa (78:1) and continuing to Surah An-Naas (114).

Juz 'Amma holds a special place in Islamic learning. Because many of its Surahs are short and contain fundamental messages about faith, worship, the Hereafter, accountability, the power of Allah Ta'ala and righteous living, it is commonly among the first portions of the Qur'an that children and new Muslims learn to recite and memorise.
