Typography:
The Akzidenz Grotesk Next font is used in this book. This font was created in 1880 by the royal Prussian punch cutter Ferdinand Theinhardt and was originally called "Royal Grotesk". It was used in contemporary publications of the Preußische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Prussian Academy of Sciences). Sans serif fonts were often employed in scientific publications before the beginning of the twentieth century. In contrast to this, the serif font Century Schoolbook is used for general parts of the text.
Graphic design:
Andreas Töpfer ([...] is a free-lance graphic designer, illustrator, and drawing artist. In 2003 he founded the kookbooks publishing house together with Danilea Seel. Andreas Töpfer works as a visual arts editor for Vagant, a Norwegian literature and culture magazine. His work has won many prizes (including the Stiftung Buchkunst award) and has been exhibited internationally.
