Über den Autor

Bentley Glass (1906-2005) was an American geneticist and professor at The Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of Progress or Catastrophe: The Nature of Biological Science and Its Impact on Human Society. Owsei Temkin, M.D. (1902-2002), was William H. Welch Professor of the History of Medicine and director of the Institute of the History of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University. His books include The Falling Sickness: A History of Epilepsy from the Greeks to the Beginnings of Modern Neurology, Soranus' Gynecology (translation), and Hippocrates in a World of Pagans and Christians. William L. Straus, Jr. (1900-1981), former professor at The Johns Hopkins University, was known his extensive research in the field of physical anthropology. Straus received the Viking Fund Award in 1952.
